 SHIRLEY THOMAS BIOGRAPHY! Shirley is a motivational speaker and a teacher of principles on how to live a fuller, more successful life. Since childhood, it has been her heart’s desire to help people get to a place where they were receiving the best they could get out of life. Life was made to be enjoyed! Shirley's creative techniques of teaching come from the standpoint that life is choice-driven, and you live and die by the choices you make. She also teaches the proven principles that if you want to control your behavior, control your thinking!
Shirley was born in St. Louis, Missouri. She was raised in a little town called Hayti, Missouri before her mom migrated to Flint,Michigan when she was 14 years old. In Hayti, they experienced the chopping of cotton, picking of cotton, standing in the hot sun and waiting for the water girl to get some water... THAT was Shirley's Missouri! Those were the days of hard work. Shirley says that today she would count herself as amongst the "busy" but never the hard working! THOSE were her days of hard work! Shirley attended Columbia School of Broadcasting for a short time, taking courses in radio announcing, and she interned at WYCB and WUST radio stations in Washington, DC. In 1991, she hosted the Gospel sounds segment of WHBC student radio station every Sunday morning at Howard University from 7 am – 11 am. She also hosted a T.V. program on Cable in Washington, DC, titled "Mountain Moving Faith." Her hobbies are singing and working in capacities of feeding the poor and helping the disadvantaged.
